This form of monotype or monoprint is a very basic form of printing without a using a press. I have used a lightweight 80g Japanese acid free paper and water based ink. The paper is laid on an inked block and then drawn through from the back with a pointed stylus which creates a reversed image as in many forms of handmade printing. The paper is off-white or ivory coloured, the ink is Schminke ivory black. The paper is 61x43cm. Each print is titled, signed and dated at the base of the image. The titles of the prints are the same indicating that they are from the same series, though each image is unique i.e. different from each other.

You can purchase these monotypes for £120 + postage and packing exclusively from Emily Ball at Seawhites. Click Here to make an enquiry or click the buy links on each image page.
